If possible, have your attorney represent you from start to finish in your family law case.
However, if you have limited resources or if you only want legal assistance with one issue or one hearing, you can retain Jackie to represent you in just those areas of your case that are most important to you or that are most urgent. You will sign a Notice of Limited Scope Representation which describes the work Jackie will do. After Jackie has completed the work described in the Notice of Limited Scope, you will be representing yourself again unless you sign a new Notice of Limited Scope Representation form to extend the services.
Common situations where limited scope representation is appropriate include retraining Jackie to represent you at hearings on child custody and visitation, child and spousal support, and attorney fees.
Limited scope representation allows you to have aggressive legal representation for the issues that are most important to you and pay attorney fees for just those issues.
